    Works great

Installing the tube was easy, I just had to remove the ballast and reconnect the hot and neutral wires. The color is almost the same as the neon 4000k, and it is a bit brighter, but not much. I'll use these tubes from now on instead of replacing ballasts.

    Excellent Bypass Fluorescent Lamp Replacement

Posted by Stan Bernstein on Aug 19th 2021

The lamp gives off a bit more light than the original fluorescent lamp. The hardest thing is to modify the unit by removing the ballast and rewiring the assembly. Need to pay attention on rewiring as to the line and neutral on the same end (single end powered) or the line and neutral on opposite sides (dual end powered) of the lamp, and match your lamp order to the new modified wiring configuration. Once this is done, just reorder the same LED lamp, if it has to be replaced at all. And at this point in my house, I would rather convert each fluorescent fixture to LED lamps than replace the fixture itself, much easier.

    SATCO - 21 IN. - LED T5 - F13T5 REPLACEMENT - 4000K | BALLAST BYPASS - 7 WATT - 700 LUMENS - 120-277 VOLT - S11908

Just had to do a little rewiring in the fixture to bypass the ballast so the lamp is wired directly to 120vac (through a switch, of course). Works great.

    T5 7watt 4000k

Posted by RonB on Jul 13th 2020

Works great, I chose 4000k and it looks the same color as florescent (white light) but brighter. I should have chose 3000k as it would match better for kitchen under cabinet lighting
